Job Description
Lead the day-to-day operations of a Q.C. laboratory in a large scale corn and oilseeds processing plant to monitor and assure the quality of processes and corn derived products, consistent with defined requirements. Work closely with supervisors and technical resources in achievement of both short term and long term performance. Emphasize and require safe operation of the lab as well as compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations. Establish and maintain analytical policies, procedures and practices for a group of 30
employees who operate the lab around the clock, 365 days per year. Q.C. Superintendent responsibilities include personnel management, plant technical support, accurate process and product testing, documentation, maintenance and review of quality records, sample preparation and shipment, tracking of information and issue resolution. Cooperatively partner with other company locations and divisions, as necessary.
Requirements
College degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology or related discipline.
Strong safety fundamentals.
Hands-on approach and strong detail focus.
Excellent leadership capabilities. Ability to select, develop people, and achieve objectives through employees. Experience in leading others effectively.
Ability to develop and maintain relationships to enable the achievement of results over time.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization.
Strong ability to use computers. Strong knowledge of analytical equipment, methods and practices.
Problem solving skills in analytical Chemistry and Microbiology.
High energy level and clear customer focus. Must be able to walk long distances, climb stairs, lift up to 40 lbs.

years of experience, preferably in an industrial Q.C. lab setting. Strong technical background through work in similar lab.
